Content
Certificate I in Sport and
Recreation with equestrian electives introduces students to the equestrian
industry. the horticulture, administration, hospitality and retail units
also introduce students to different areas of working in the equestrian
environment.
The Core units are - prepare for work in
business, complete daily work activities, apply basic communication
skills, plan skills development, follow environmental work practice,
operate a personal computer, operate a word processing application,
provide first aid, create client relationships, develop knowledge of the
sport and recreation industry.
Any one of the following specialisations may
be included in this course and may include - handle horses safely, care
for horses and demonstrate basic horse-riding skills.

Content
Certificate II in Sport and
Recreation with equestrian electives prepares students for working within
the sport of riding or the business of a recreational riding school. The
horticulture, general administration, hospitality, and retail units
provide further knowledge of working within an equestrian centre
environment.
The Core units are - work effectively in a
business environment, organise and complete daily work activities,
communicate in the workplace, work effectively with others, implement
improved work practices, participate in environmental work practices,
operate computing packages, provide first aid, deal with client feedback,
develop knowledge of the sport and recreation industry, follow defined
occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
Any one of the following specialisations may
be included - amenity horticulture, general administration, hospitality or
retail.
Electives are required and may include
the following - ride horses and care for equipment, load and unload
animals, carry out regular horse observation.

Certificate III in Sport and
Recreation with equestrian electives gives students further knowledge of
working within the sport of riding or the business of a recreational
riding school.
The equestrian riding units prepare students
for competitions in dressage, showjumping and eventing, as well as show
horse, while the horticulture, hospitality, general administration, retail
as well as sakes and marketing units prepare students for working within
an equestrian centre.
The Core units for this course are exercise
initiative in a business environment, organise personal work priorities
and development, contribute to personal skill development and learning,
organise workplace information, support innovation and change, maintain
environmental procedure, contribute to effective workplace relationships,
design organisational documents using computing packages, use analyse
participation pattern in specific markets of the leisure and recreation
industry, undertake risk analysis of activities.
Any one of the following specialisations may
be included - amenity horticulture, general administration, hospitality,
retail or sales and marketing.
Electives are required for this course
and may included - supervise horse handing, provide daily care for horses
and demonstrate basic dressage and show horse skills using poles and
grids.

Content
Certificate IV in Sport and
Recreation with equestrian electives gives students the knowledge to take
more responsibility while working within the sport of riding or the
business of a recreational riding school.
The Core units for this course are - develop
work priorities, establish business networks, develop teams and
individuals, analyse and present workplace information, promote innovation
and change, implement and monitor environmental policies, lead work teams,
address client needs, coordinate client service activities, analyse
participation patterns in specific markets of the leisure and recreation
industry, promote compliance with laws and legal principals, conduct
projects, implement and monitor the organisation's Occupational Health and
Safety polices procedures and programs, undertake risk analysis of
activities, assist with analysis and use of emerging technology.
Any one of the following specialisations may
be included - amenity horticulture, events and facilities, general
administration, retail or sales and marketing.
Electives for this course are required
and may include - demonstrate basic dressage showjumping and cross country
riding, apply first aid for horses and apply first aid for horses.
The equestrian riding units prepare students
for competitions in dressage, showjumping and eventing, as well as sales
and marketing units prepare students for working within an equestrian
centre.
